01 — WHY THE NAME
A gill doesn't discard what passes through it — it pulls out what's still usable and lets the rest go. That's the whole method here. We start with what's already been let go: used jeans, rice bags, and other thrifted, reclaimed natural fibers — things donated with life still left inside them. Then we work out what they want to become.
At re gills we obsess over the design and keep the environment in mind, always. Every piece is handcrafted, one at a time.

From donation bin

Reclaim
We source from donation bins, thrift racks, and anyone with a pair of jeans or a rice bag they're done with — anywhere usable material still has life left in it.
Strip
Denim is washed and reinforced. Rice bags are cleaned and treated. Buttons and rivets are pulled and reused by hand.
Rework
Every panel is cut around the material's flaws, not despite them. Scarring and fade stay visible on purpose.
Release
Small batches, numbered by the material lot they came from. When a lot runs out, that version is gone for good.
